Non-Academic Research / Cercetare neacademică

Versiunea în limba română este mai jos!

If you need assistance related to searching information or doing specific research in Romania, please, let me know. I am always glad to help in any way I can.

I have conducted research for non-academic purposes in the Romanian National Central Archives, in the Archives of the Romanian Intelligence Service, in the Military Archives in Pitesti, in different county branches of the Romanian National Archives, for both private and public entities. My non-academic research covered different types of inquiry from Genealogy Research to Research on Prisoners of War/Missing in Action.

For instance, in 2008 I conducted research in the Romanian National Central Historical Archives and in the Archives of the Romanian Intelligence Service (both located in Bucharest) for the World War II Working Group of the Defence Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Office in the United States Department of Defence, USA. Job description: perform research in the Romanian archives, locating and acquiring referencing of Americans who may have been captured and held in Romania during/after World War II.  I have identified many such cases, but the research was not completed due to budget limitations. There are still many Romanian archive sources that have not been studied in this respect.

Samples of the research results:

Upon request I  have located (and when necessary translated into English) documents for foreign researchers who, for various reasons, could not travel and conduct research in Romania by themselves.

I have helped overseas individuals to trace the roots of their families in Romania.

I am a collaborator of Progenealogists for which I conduct research in the Romanian archives.

I am a collaborator of Balkanalysis.com for which I write articles and briefings  on Romanian current affairs. See, for instance,
